Description

Students return to the list of questions they generated and choose a main question on which to focus. Teachers group students according to their question of interest, keeping in mind heterogeneous grouping.

Exhibition: South Africa
March 22 & 23, 2005

Overview: The purpose of this exhibition is for you to
* demonstrate your knowledge of the history of South Africa and Kaffir Boy
* practice your thesis development skills
* research and produce evidence and analysis to support your thesis
* practice your presentation skills
* learn and use PowerPoint as a presentation tool
* collaborate with a group to synthesize your knowledge and skills in a presentation

Main Task: Your exhibition will focus on one of the 5 main topics about apartheid South Africa. With your group, you will give a 6-7 minute PowerPoint presentation. Each group member must participate in the research and presentation. Each group member will speak for about 1 ½ minutes of the presentation. You will have time to research, develop and practice your presentation in Language Arts and Social Studies classes, as well as some time in Digital Media and Science.
