Assessments: Video production

Description

Blog/Website. The Blog/Website is where students historically record their project. They post a weekly reflection and record who worked on what aspects of the project. This is very helpful for teachers to monitor group dynamics and assess who is doing what. Students are encouraged to "tell it like it really is" on the project - the good, bad, and ugly!

Digitial Imagages and Video. Students set up a strategy to store and backup digital video and images. The backup strategy is critical and can save or ruin a project.

Comprehensive Storyboard. The groups organize and assign segments of the storyboard to all group members. The overall storyboard is the major benchmark for approval before they begin production on the video. The average storyboard should be 40-50 frames.

REFLECTIONS & COMMENTS

Author Reflections

It is was critical for groups to take footage (video, still) of their project group during the project activities including those taking place early in the project so they can make the project look and feel like a Mythbusters episode. A lot of groups really slacked off on this and it showed later.
