Description


Students were expected to be prepared to defend their work to the community and arrive in professional dress. The following is a list of questions and comments students were expected to address during night. Students were expected to be able to discuss their projects with in-depth knowledge about the material as well as the artistic and technical choices they made.

Discuss your project with visitors:
1. What is the message of the project?
2. Why is the message important?
3. What are the central questions?
4. How does your project address the central questions?
5. Provide an analysis of the techniques and styles you used to create a successful project.

Make connections about your work to the visitors:
1. How are the message and central questions related or relevant to you?
2. How did the project extend your knowledge of the Holocaust and WWII?
3. What truths will the museum visitors find in your exhibit?
4. Connect the various elements of your project to each other. How are they related?
5. What does your project show about our sense of responsibility to others?
6. To what are you a witness and a messenger?
7. Who are you? What reason do you have for living?
8. Why should we learn about the past?
9. How does your work connect with the present? With the future?

Discuss your project in more detail with the visitors:
1. Discuss the various elements of you project.
2. Explain in more detail how you created various artifacts and writing samples. What was your purpose?
3. Why did you choose the format (scrapbook or box of artifacts, etc...)?
4. What do you want the museum visitors to learn from you?
5. Explain the story or narrative behind your project.
