Bundle: The Holocaust and Genocide Museum Project
Description
For this large scale project, students transformed City Arts and Technology HS into a multi-media museum dedicated to the memory and lessons of the Holocaust. Our museum featured digital design, theatrical performance, sculpture, graphic art, radio commentary, scrap-booking, memorials and more. Each group was responsible for creating and implementing a thematic, historical and relevant exhibit that explored some aspect of genocide and the notion of human choice and responsibility in the face of unimaginable circumstances. In order to create their piece, students synthesized and applied content from Social Studies, English Language Arts, Integrated Science, Academic Literacy, Art, Digital Media and Spanish. All students in the school selected one of the following 6 projects to work on as Installation Curators: -The Radio Project: Does History Repeat Itself? -Portraits and Comics -Teatro en Espanol -The Holocaust Filmmaking Project -A Correspondance Between History and My-Story -How Do We Remember? Student were also responsible for writing an Historical and Literary Analyis addressing the question "Am I My Brother or Sister's Keeper?"
