ACTIVITY: An Introduction to Doors (part I)

Students read a bit of text (from the prologue of the novel Neverwhere) and are asked to 'inquire' about it, explore it and complete a creative writing assignment.
(e.g. rubrics, examplars, websites, etc.)

Great activity to get students into the middle of a story, before they've begun reading it. Many students really wanted to know more. When they actually began reading the novel, they have already met one of the main characters and 'know' her a little bit.
